Purpose of position
To provide technical expertise in the implementation of Monitoring, Evaluation and Reporting of the Improved Food Security of Drought-Affected Households in Zimbabwe project activities under Heifer Project International Zimbabwe. The M & E Officer coordinates and manages project reporting on specific indicators and activity-related tracking.
Support development of M&E database and updating it in line with activities; Review project reports according to agreed indicators that will guide project implementation; Analyse and document all key indicators, best practices and case studies of innovations and initiatives; Work with partners to ensure the collection of relevant and appropriate data which is needed for the project M and E System; Carry out assessments and project related study; Organize and facilitate district level trainings on M&E functions for capacity development and awareness among relevant Heifer staff; Develops relevant monitoring and evaluation tools, including formulation of terms of reference where appropriate; Facilitates development of district project operational plans; Monitors project progress, ensuring that implementation is according to the operational plan; Carries out any other assignments that may be given by the supervisor.
A bachelor’s Degree in social sciences, statistics, development studies, agriculture or other relevant disciplines plus at least 2 years of monitoring and evaluation experience; Must possess a clean valid class 4 driver’s license; Willing to ride and use a motor cycle
