UNDP ­ ZRBF Recruitment for APT

Under the UNDP managed Zimbabwe Resilience Building Fund, Welthungerhilfe Zimbabwe (WHH) and its partners – Community Technology Development Organisation (CTDO); Agricultural Partnership Trust (APT) and Institute of Environmental Studies (IES), will implement a project entitled Strengthening institutions, building assets and enhancing productivity towards resilience. The project will engage key stakeholders to plan and implement resilience building activities addressing infrastructure, food and nutrition security market linkages and community safety nets in Umzingwane, Umguza, Bubi and Nkayi districts in participatory and sustainable ways.


JOB TITLE: Market Linkage Advisor – REF APT/ZW/MLA

LOCATION: Bulawayo


SUPERVISES: District Market Linkage Officer



● Coordinating/undertaking market surveys in target districts

● Identifying smallholder value chains with good commercial potential

● Identifying market opportunities for smallholders in target districts

● Assisting with the development of market linkage strategies for target districts

● Liaison with crop and livestock market partners

● Overseeing the excellent performance of district­based market linkage officers

● Coordinating collection of agricultural marketing data from local markets

● Design, coordination and overseeing implementation of farmer marketing surveys

● Participation in the development of Training of Trainers materials focusing on market

access. Development of training programmes and schedules. Training of trainers and

farmers. ● Monthly reporting


● Passion for rural economic development

● Dedicated professional, ability to work in a team and independently under minimal


● Ability to work under pressure to meet with deadlines. ● Ability to adapt to changing conditions and to innovate under challenging situations

● Excellent communication skills

● Fluent in English and Ndebele

● Proven ability to organize, plan and prioritize work

● Excellent writing skills with ability to write or edit reports and other materials

● Excellent computer skills

Required skills and experience:

● A minimum of Degree in Agriculture

● Four years’ experience in private sector development

● Working knowledge of smallholder agricultural systems in Matabeleland

● Working knowledge of Matabeleland based agricultural companies

● Proven M&E and capacity building skills

● Clean Class 4 driver’s license
