Warehouse Manager: Hope for a Child in Christ (HOCIC)

HOCIC is a Non-Governmental Organisation focusing on empowering children and youths living in difficult circumstances and other vulnerable groups in the community including women and people with disabilities. Established in 1995, the organisation is guided by the CSP 2016 to 2020 which has 5 thematic areas, among them being Food Security and Livelihoods. Under this thematic area, HOCIC in partnership with WFP is implementing the Lean Season Assistance (LSA) Program whose objective is to improve food availability for food insecure households during the peak hunger period in partnership. Program activities include distributing cash or in-kind contributions in the form of Cereals, Pulses, Vegetable Oil and CSB porridge to people assisted.
Responsibilities/Duties of Warehouse Manager
To provide Logistics and administration support for the LSA Program in Gokwe South. Compiling stock data to assist the Project Officer in developing distribution plans, Plan and facilitate for food prepositioning in preparation for the next distribution cycle. Stock management: ensuring the proper maintenance of stock records and undertaking regular stock checks within the warehouse; Requesting supplies from the main office and processing local purchases when necessary; Verifying goods specifications with WFP and completing the waybill; Reporting weekly the stock movements; Ensure maintenance of daily stock documentation/records in accordance with WFP and HOCICs requirements; Maintain documentation for periodic stock reconciliation; Ensure adherence to warehousing /stock management policies and procedures as set out by HOCIC and WFP. Managing and supervising Warehouse staff and drivers including highlighting the goals and objectives against the set targets. Production of weekly and monthly stock reports to the Project officer and any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Required skills and experience
At least 5 years’ experience in warehouse management, Degree in warehousing, Logistics, Procurement or tertiary qualification in operational Management, Very good command of mathematics, good report writing skills, good communication skills and good interpersonal skills for networking with different partners and agencies, good facilitation, negotiation and influencing skills.
