Warehouse Clerk – ORAP

Reports To: Warehouse Supervisor
The Organisation of Rural Associations for Progress (ORAP), a leading local non-governmental organisation, is inviting suitably qualified and motivated candidates to fill this vacancy under the current running Lean Season Assistance (LSA) Program.
Purpose of the job
To maintain accurate commodity accounting records of all food and non food commodities in the district including receipts, transfers,dispatches,distributions and losses.
Duties Include
Carrying out stock counting and tallying on a daily basis; Training casual warehouse employees as the need arises; Ensuring internal and external of warehouse cleanliness on a daily basis; Ensuring that all commodities arriving at the warehouse are verified for quantity accuracy as per waybill; Overseeing the loading and unloading of commodities and ensuring that processes and procedures are followed all the time; Ensuring all stacks have cards and that the stack cards are updated as and when the need arises; Carrying out physical count of commodities on a daily basis; Maintaining a loaders register and compiling monthly schedule for payment.

Qualifications and Experience
Diploma in Purchasing and Supply, or equivalent; 2 years’ experience in handling incoming and outgoing commodities and managing stock in an NGO setup; Demonstrated ability working with teams.
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with an ability to write good reports, clearly and meet a deadline; Proven work experience as a warehouse Clerk; Knowledge of warehouse software packages and MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint proficiency; Ability to input, retrieve and analyse data; Hands-on commitment to getting the job done; Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
