University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences – Clinical Trials Research Centre (UZCHS-CTRC) is a Centre of Excellence at the University of Zimbabwe College of Health Sciences which implements high-level HIV prevention and treatment research and collaborates with a broad range of partners internationally.
UZCHS-CTRC is seeking a suitably trained, competent, talented, multi-task and qualified Study Coordinator to be based in Chitungwiza.
The Study Coordinator is expected to: Perform research activities assisting the PIs day to day functions and activities, maintaining an effective relationship. Facilitate in the Coordination of all IRB applications and Ensuring proper implementation of the study protocol; Communicate and collaborate with other site coordinators and stakeholders to necessitate smooth running of the project; Ensure project activities are conducted properly through process monitoring and evaluation; Ensure that project participant recruitment and retention progresses on schedule; Provide clinical care and counseling to study participants and Collect and enter participant data; Ensure that study data are collected accurately, and queries are attended to timeously; Ensure that participant retention rate is maintained high through intensive outreach work coordination; Carry out community and stakeholder meetings for formative research purposes; Develop and test SOPs and data collection tools for research; Develop quality control programs for data collection; Prompt reporting of Serious Adverse Events and Information dissemination to the community; Prepare PowerPoint presentations on training sessions and conferences; Organize study related conference calls and host local and international site visitors; Manage inventory of supplies, translating of project documents, Translate and analyze qualitative data & Collaborate with international partners; Work on sensitive topics including sexual behavior and HIV/AIDS; Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports and updates on the progress of the study; Represent project to local authorities and Community Advisory Board; Conduct Quality Assurance of all research documents on Source Documents and Case Report Forms.
The Study Coordinator must have: a Degree or Diploma in nursing and/or midwifery; Counseling certification and/or experience; Master’s degree with major courses in the field of research is an added advantage; Knowledge of protocol adherence and GCP; 5 years’ experience in related clinical research or reproductive health; strong management and analytical skills & proposal writing skills and high computer literacy; Organizational skills and to accurately report data, Experience of managing confidential patient records; Excellent oral and written communication skills (Shona and English); Excellent interpersonal & presentation skills and ability to work in a team.
