Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates to fill the following positions that have arisen at the Women’s University in Africa:

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Lecturing courses in the Sociology and Gender Studies programme and supervising students’ research work;
  • Carrying out research, producing publications and participating in community outreach programs for the Sociology and Gender Studies programme and the university at large;
  • Delivering seminars, tutorials, field work and facilitating e-learning;
  • Assisting in the development of curriculum and learning materials for the Sociology and Gender Studies programme;
  • Assessing student coursework, setting and marking examinations;
  • Undertaking administrative tasks related to the department, such as student selections for admissions, induction programmes and involvement in Faculty Boards and Committees.

Qualifications And Experience

  • An earned PhD from a credible University in Sociology and Gender Studies is mandatory
  • BSc and MSc in Sociology and Gender Studies/ related field;
  • Professorship or Associate Professorship will be a distinct advantage;
  • At least 2 years of relevant teaching experience in a tertiary institution;
