The Salvation Army – Howard Mission Hospital is a registered faith based organisation (PVO-W.O.31/67) providing clinical and social services to marginalised communities in Mashonaland Central of Zimbabwe. The organisation is committed to improve the wellbeing of people through quality health care, child protection and household economic empowerment. A dedicated team of experts with a mix of unique talent is helping the organisation in addressing the communities connected challenges.
Reporting to the Health and Community Linkage Officer, coordinate health programs implementation in Guruve district. He/she will be responsible for coordinating the delivery of a seamless OVC health programs in line with PEPFAR HIV epidemic control focus. He/She takes a lead in tracking quality HIV cascades in line with the 2020 and 2030 HIV targets. Build capacity of volunteers and project staff on HIV treatment literacy and adherence support, create and strengthen linkage with USAID clinical partners, work with health facilities to strengthen retention of PMTCT mothers, support EID through innovation and strong collaboration with MOHCC, clinical and non-clinical partners, participate in strategic district health program meetings, sharing information on assigned programs and participating in monitoring, mentorship and support visits.
Qualifications, skills, attributes and experience
First degree/Diploma in nursing science or other related degree. At least 2 years’ experience in implementing USAID OVC projects; Good report writing, facilitation, communication, analytical, negotiation and community mobilization skills; Ability to work under pressure; Highly computer literate.
