Field Officers x4 – Multisectoral Approach towards Nutrition Adaptation (MANA) project – Community Technology Development Organisation (CTDO)

CTDO is a non-profit making NGO seeking the services of competent personnel under the ‘Multisectoral Approach towards Nutrition Adaptation (MANA) project. CTDO promotes improved agro-biodiversity and environmental management, food and nutrition security, water and sanitation, policy and advocacy programmes to promote sustainable livelihoods. MANA will be implemented in Tsholotsho and Nyanga districts and the position is district based. Terms of Reference
Guided by the project document and the District Coordinator; the Field Officer will implement project activities as per set work-plans. The Field Officer will seek to establish, operationalize and coordinate all project activities and components that enhance food and nutrition security, crop/livestock improvement, capacity building, appropriate technology development, testing, adoption, dissemination and scaling up.
Specific deliverables will be guided by the MANA project document, work-plan and implementation strategies as per the District Coordinator and/ or Manager’s guidance. The field Officer is expected to comply with any alterations to set targets.
Coordinate ward level relations with relevant stakeholders and committees (such as ward FNSC) while ensuring strong linkage with existing programs; Responsible for facilitating planning meetings with stakeholders and beneficiaries and sharing project information with relevant local authorities; Identify training needs for stakeholders and beneficiaries; Organizing and supporting project sensitization meetings, field day, food fairs, seed fairs and trainings; Provide trainings on climate smart agriculture, nutrition sensitive agriculture, livestock production, post-harvest techniques and value addition in liaison with relevant government departments and private sector players to cover the identified gaps; Support the establishment of appropriate climate smart agriculture crop and livestock demonstrations sites, enhancing community adoption.
Qualifications and experience
Diploma or degree in Agriculture/ developmental studies/Agribusiness; A minimum of three years’ experience in working with rural communities; Experience working in the NGO environment is highly preferred; Ability to work productively under pressure while meeting deadlines; Good presentation, report writing skills and communication skills; Computer literate; Class 4 or 3 driver’s license; Ability to ride a motorbike a must.
