Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Tutor
The ideal candidate must have a passion for teaching and spreading knowledge to candidates, as
well as a deep understanding of mathematical concepts.
Roles and Responsibilities
a. Tutoring students in class environments in modules within the ACCA qualification.
b. Contribute to the design and delivery of modules within the subject area. They will
help with developing the content or structure of modules with academic staff and
make proposals on how this should be achieved.
c. Evaluate, monitor and record student progress through performing tasks such as
(but not limited to):
i. Maintaining records of assessment, student results and homework
submission as appropriate.
ii. Setting and marking assessment tests and assignments for students and
iii. Working cooperatively under supervision with senior staff.
iv. Being punctual for all scheduled tutoring sessions.
v. Complete and hand in all tuition administrative paperwork as required by
the business school.
vi. Effective supervision of all students’ arrival and dismissal for classes.
vii. To be aware of any Health and Safety, disability, equality or welfare
issues, and raise any concerns with the Course Organiser.
2. Professional Conduct
The Tutor is expected to:
a. Start classes on time as stated in the contract;
b. Give a 48 hour notice of absence;
c. Keep up to date with developments in their subject area;
d. Keep accurate and up to date registers;
e. Adhere to general standards of conduct embodied in the business school’s policies
and procedures (e.g. health and safety, equality and diversity etc.);
f. Be involved in the business school’s quality assurance arrangements (Induction,
lesson observation, appraisal and gathering/analysing feedback from your students
with a view to implementing continual improvement to your course on an
g. Work on a range of performance indicators relevant to the service provided, in
order to ensure continuous quality improvement;
h. Participate in the business school’s performance appraisal system;
i. Make the most efficient and effective use of human, financial and material
j. Participate in the development of a responsive customer centred approach to

a. A background with a Financial or Accounting Degree.
b. ACCA members receive an added advantage.
c. Prior experience mentoring any of the following ACCA modules:

❏ Audit & Assurance;
❏ Financial Management;
❏ Strategic Business Reporting;
❏ Advanced Performance Management;
❏ Advanced Financial Management;
❏ Advanced Taxation.
