Field Officer: Community Technology Development Organisation (CTDO)

Community Technology Development Organisation (CTDO) formerly Community Technology Development Trust (CTDT) seeks to hire qualified and experienced person to take up the position of Field Officer.

Reporting to: District Coordinator

With guidance from the District Coordinator the Field Officer will implement project activities as per set workplans. Field Officer will be responsible for initiating and implementing comprehensive sustainable Community/District Resilience Plans within the ZRBF project framework. The Field Officer will seek to establish, operationalize and coordinate all project activities and components, that enhance community resilience, address food security, crop/livestock improvement, capacity building, appropriate technology development, testing, adoption, dissemination and scaling up. This will be achieved through the creation of a platform where resilience is prioritized.

Specific duties:
Specific deliverables will be guided by the ZRBF project proposal and workplan and implementing strategies as per the project coordinator or Team Leader’s guidance. The Field Officer is expected to comply to any alteration of set targets; Support communities to diversify food production and income earning opportunities through a basket of options which will include, supporting women and men farmers to access improved farming inputs; Supporting communities to reinforce community based safety nets such as Zunde Ramambo, seed banks communal granaries and ISALs; Support the establishment of appropriate climate smart agriculture demonstrations sites, enhancing community adoption; Promote inclusiveness among all stakeholders in line with Resilience Building Agenda; Work with impacted communities, Local Authorities, communities and other relevant stakeholders to incorporate mitigation, and resilience building measures into recovery plans and implementation; Establish effective coordination mechanisms across Government agencies, international community and civil society for risk reduction work at district levels; Monitor and introduce a culture of building requisite features of disaster mitigation and prevention in all development plans and programmes. Perform any other duty as may be required by the Team leader, Project Coordinator, District Coordinator or her designate.

Qualifications
Diploma/Degree in Agriculture; At least two years working experience within agricultural production and development programmes; Good knowledge of government and community structures; Ability to ride a motorbike a must Fluency in Ndebele language

This role is very HR Administrator driven and requires a strong background in administration. You must have work experience in Payroll – Pension – Medical Aid – Insurance – Risk and other admin.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Administration of Pension Fund by ensuring that all employees are covered and liaising with dependants on pension benefits after the death or retirement of a staff member.
Medical Aid Administration.
Administration of the NSSA Scheme.
Control and processing of the payroll System.
Administration of the Motor Policy Insurance for staff
Administration of the Car Loan Assurance Scheme
Administration of the House owners Insurance Scheme and their claims.
Setting up of the payroll administration system.
Attending all insurance administration meeting with the brokers and the insurers.
Calculation of Government Statistics.
All external payments involving deductions from payroll i.e. Payee, Pension, Medical Aid, Garnishees and other Government Levies.
Checking all payroll adjustments on a monthly basis.
Checking of the General Ledger and Suspense Account.
Any other work delegated by Manager – Human Resources
Full responsibility of the Administration of all Insurance Policies.
Risk – non-compliance of statutory requirements may result in the organisation losing large sums of money in fines.
