Internship opportunity – The Source

The Source News Agency is looking for an intern to join its Harare-based editorial team.

This is an excellent opportunity for a prospective financial journalist to work with industry leading journalists.
The contract period is for at least six months and the successful candidate will report to the News Editor.

The successful candidate will:
• Get an opportunity to gain work experience while learning to generate news for the online media platform.
• Have an opportunity to venture into multimedia journalism, packaging videos and audio files for our website.
• Work on other media functions the editor may assign.


The Source is an independent Zimbabwean online business and financial news agency that provides detailed, accurate, real-time news and analysis. The news service is run by Zimbabweans, serves local and international media organizations, financial institutions and fellow citizens – providing trusted information that is also be of value to potential foreign investors.


The applicants should be journalism/mass communication students looking to fulfil the work-experience segment of their courses or a recent graduate in journalism/mass communication/commerce/economy
• You must have an excellent academic record
• Excellent language and communication skills; and
• A desire to learn and expand existing skills.
• Proficiency in video editing, using social media, especially Twitter and Facebook, to reach out to a broader readership an added advantage.
• Applicants should be prepared to do a practical news reporting exercise as part of our screening process.
