Job Summary

The role ofthe Zvandiri Intern is to provide support to the Zvandiri Mentor in the scale up of Africaid’s
Zvandiri model and Community Adolescent Treatment Supporters (CATS) services through technical
capacity building of MoHCC service providers and support and mentorship of CATS in a district of Zimbabwe

Roles and Responsibilities

Key Performance Area #1: Training, mentoring and supervision LOE: 50%

  • Assist the Zvandiri Mentor in training and mentorship activities for CATS at the facility and
    community levels
  • Assist in the planning of monthly CATS coordination meetings
  • Assist in the formation ofsupport groups and/or regeneration of support groups as well as
    assist in providing ongoing mentorship at each supported facility within the district
  • Support the ZM in ensuring that Zvandiri beneficiaries are reached with appropriate
    differentiated care, based on the Zvandiri Intervention Manual
  • Assist in the planning of Caregiver Workshops as well as co—facilitate at the same workshops.

Key Performance Area #2: Coordination of M&E and programme LOE: 30%
activities in the district

  • Assist in the coordination of Africaid’s project activities in the districts, in accordance with
    the approved project work plans
  • Actively participate in the development of a detailed project work plan for the district
    Support the ZM in ensuring that the project is delivered on time, to budget and to the
    required quality standards
  • Contribute to progress activity reports.
  • Assist in the monitoring of project progress and performance in line with the project M&E
  • Assist in the collection of data from CATS and facilities as well as conduct preliminary
    cleaning ofthe same prior to submission to national office
  • Entry of data as detailed by the Head of MECAR
  • Participation in the documentation of case studies, key lessons learnt, success stories and
    best practices
  • Participation in Africaid’s learning and capacity strengthening activities


Key Performance Area #3: Liaise with partners and stakeholders LOE: 15%

– Liaison with partners and local stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of project


Key Performance Area #4: Perform other duties as assigned LOE: 5%

– Perform other duties as required



– Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Science or related field preferred or
completion ofA Levels with experience working within the Zvandiri Model


– Experience working with children and adolescents

– Comprehensive understanding ofthe Africaid Zvandiri Model desirable
– Technical working knowledge of HIV

– Knowledge of and familiarity with the Ministry of Health and Child Care

Personal Characteristics

– Conveys and responds to information in a clear and timely manner
– Excellent report writing and computer skills

– Excellent written and oral communicator

– Fluency in English and Shona with knowledge of Ndebele a plus

– Ability and willingness to travel frequently within Zimbabwe
