Community Technology Development Organisation (CTDO) formerly Community Technology Development Trust (CTDT) seeks to hire qualified and experienced person to take up the position of Fund Raising Officer/Business Development Officer.
Scope and accountability
The Fundraising Officer will be key in helping Action on Poverty (AFAP)/CTDO to grow the scale and impact of our current programmes. The role sits within the management team at CTDO and will the Executive Director of CTDO manage line, with guidance from Action on Poverty.
The purpose of this role is to ensure that Action on Poverty (AFAP)/CTDO build financial resources to deliver on their shared vision and mission. AFAP/CTDO expect to have seen a 50% increase in their annual budgets within 12 months of engagement; The Fundraising Officer will play an instrumental role in ensuring that fundraising strategies and practice exceed this ambition/goal set; The post holder will achieve this through working with colleagues across the host organization and other regional partners in Malawi and Mozambique to ensure that fundraising targets are met; Assist in maintaining current donor relations and ensuring that new donors are brought on board. The role is expected to coordinate all types of fundraising, including philanthropy, private sector, and Trusts; The candidate is expected to work alongside colleagues developing proposals and providing strategic support and direction for organizational fundraising. Specific Tasks; Take forward and develop an organization wide fundraising strategy and workplans including tactics for raising unrestricted income; Advise the Executive Director and all Programme Directors in devising and implementing fundraising strategies; Contribute to CTDO/AFAP’s strategic and annual planning processes, taking ownership of the fundraising part of the overall process; Identify both solicited and unsolicited CALLS for Proposals from various media and align them to specific organizational themes, eg food security or policy and advocacy; Apply strategies which entail forming of consortia for specific funding regimes; Develop bankable proposals which will be modified to align immediately with specific emerging CALLs; Ensure the visibility of CTDO/Action on Poverty through participating in national and regional rural development networks
Degree/Diploma in a Development related discipline or Social Sciences/pure sciences (WASH/ Environment Management/Water Supplies and Sanitation etc); A minimum of 5 years experience in similar position (fund raising)
