Economic Strengthening Assistant:

A local NGO is looking for a skilled, passionate and committed professional to fill the above position. The organization works in Zimbabwe and focuses on advocacy against harmful norms and mitigates the impact thereof. The position will be based in Gweru but the person should be prepared to work anywhere in Zimbabwe.
Summary of the position
The ES Assistant report to the ES Officer and is responsible for assisting with the coordination, monitoring and provision of technical support to all livelihoods initiatives of the organization.
• Develop and plan group economic strengthening initiatives in all organizational projects
• Conduct ISAL monthly mentoring and monitoring visits
• Value chain Development
• Complete the Dreams SAVIX-MIS monthly
• Transition tracking
• Assist the Programmes Officers in project management
• Liaise and network with the relevant authorities in implementing areas
• Document success stories
• Assist the Programmes Officers to develop networks and establish partnerships
• Writing activity, monthly and quarterly reports.
• Data collection and analysis
• Attending meetings
• Filing and accurate records from the field
• Develop and plan group economic strengthening initiatives in all organizational projects
• Assist in drawing up project budgets and managing them well
• Mobilize communities and work through government structures to spell out E.S components.
• Identify project beneficiaries and frontline staff.
• Capacitate groups on Business management and establishment of market linkages.
• Mainstream Health, Gender, Safety and Environmental issues into project work.
• Assist in conducting baseline surveys and appropriate project research.
• Trainings of caregivers and communities on livelihoods projects(ISAL methodology)
• Develop data collection and monitoring tools
• Equip caregivers and communities with knowledge and skills that economically empower them

Qualifications and requirements
Holder of a Degree/Diploma in Agriculture/ livelihoods or Degree in social sciences, business studies or related field; with at least two years’ experience in an NGO environment and a year in government experience in livelihoods programming; experience in savings groups data collection” is an added advantage Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Proven ability to train and motivate communities; Effective community mobiliser, team player, trainer, leader, documenter, innovative and good communicator. Ability to assist in writing proposals; Ability to ride a motorbike and drive a class 4 vehicle with a minimum 3 years’ experience.
