JF Kapnek Trust is a registered charitable trust, which has been operating in Zimbabwe since 1986. JF Kapnek Trust seeks to improve family health, reduce child mortality and create educational opportunities for children of Zimbabwe through the implementation of scalable sustainable programs.

JF Kapnek Trust is seeking to fill the vacancy of District SIE Officer based in Chivi and covering both Chivi Mwenezi priority sites.

The District SIE Officer reports to the Provincial SIE Officer.  The position will contribute to overall improved quality of data generated by the district as well as extracting and sharing information that the data presents by way of data analysis and interrogation at District level to allow informed decision making.

The broad objectives of the position will be
Technical Support: Liaise with the District Health Information Office in providing technical support to district teams in monitoring program indicators; Participate in the review of programme monitoring tools and ensure that data relevant for the program are collected; Identify key issues around program quality and ensure monitoring systems are improved to address bottlenecks; Ensure availability of M&E tools at site level in the district; Monitor use and functionality of office and IT equipment; Conduct monthly backups of all computers onto external hard drives

Quality Control: Participate in regular data quality checks conducted to address data quality challenges identified at site level; Provide backup support to the program team at  district level and prepare reports for the province; Participate in district M&E trainings and undertake regular visits to the field to support implementation of M&E activities to identify where adaptations might be needed; Regularly share new information on SIE with government District teams to keep them abreast with developments in the SIE field; Monitor turnaround time of DNA PCR HIV test results for HIV exposed infants within the district; Ensure recording of all laboratory test results (e.g. Viral load, CD4) into client files within the district; Impact Studies, Evaluations and Research; Participate in Evaluations and Research studies seeking to measure programme outcomes and impact; Lead in conducting of impact, mid-term and end line evaluation and case studies to document project success; Interpret findings from research and advise program strategy

Cohort Analysis: Perform cohort analysis in the  priority sites to establish paediatric HIV transmission rates at 6 weeks, 6 months, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months of age for HIV exposed infants; Perform cohort analysis in the  Province to determine mothers and infant retention in care at 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months; Perform cohort analysis in the  Province to determine retention in ART care at 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, and 24 months

Reporting: Ensure that data is entered into DATIM and DHIS2; Participate in producing quarterly narrative reports and share with Provincial SIE Officer.

Qualifications and experience required
Ability to work in a remote area; Degree  in Statistics, Health Promotion, Social Work; Sociology or related; At least 1 year experience at a similar level; Statistical software knowledge such as SPSS, epi info; Knowledge on Primary Health Care
