UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme is seeking a suitably trained, qualified, competent, talented and multi-tasking applicant to fill the post of Data Quality Control Officer to take part in clinical research and be based in Harare.
Qualifications and skills
Degree, HND or Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent; Ability to work with spreadsheets, MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-Access, MS-Windows; At least 5 years’ experience in research data management; Experience working with Microsoft Access databases; A team player with good communication skills; Ability to maintain confidentiality; Ability to work under pressure; Ability and willingness to work across different study networks and multiple protocols.
Duties & responsibilities
Ensure the implementation and revision of data management SOPs as required by the study sponsors; Conduct quality control and review of CRFs before submission to data management centres to minimize data errors; Ensure timely data entry and CRF filing; Retrieve records/files on request for clinicians/monitors on request; Maintain logs of data received and entered; Develop strategies to minimize data errors; Ensure timely resolution of data warnings and queries; Prepare reports and provide feedback to study Investigators and clinicians; Maintain effective and timely communication with data management centres; Maintain backup for all study data according to the data management SOPs; Train other research staff members on data management components; Assist with other general day to day ICT support issues; Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time
