The UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme seeks to recruit a suitably trained, competent, talented, multi-tasking and qualified Data Manager to take part in the clinical research for UZ-UCSF.
Qualifications and skills
Degree in Computer Science or equivalent; Master’s degree is an added advantage; At least 5 years’ experience in research data management; Experience working with Microsoft Access databases; Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as a team; Ability to analyse the programme’s data requirements and develop systems solutions; Ability to communicate and to maintain confidentiality of information; Basic research data management practices, including data entry and data cleaning routines; Familiarity with developing Excel and Word tracking tools; Ability and willingness to work across different study networks.
Duties & responsibilities
Develop and maintain local data management SOPs as required by the study sponsors; Conduct quality control of CRFs before submission to Data management centres; Ensure timely data entry and CRF filing; Reconcile batches of data after data entry; Maintain logs of when data are received and entered; Supervise QA/QC officers and other data management staff; Perform data cleaning and develop strategies to minimize data errors; Write and maintain database problems and resolutions for future reference; Provide reports and feedback to the Site Investigator; Maintain communication with data management centre including responding to queries in a timely manner; Maintain backup for all study data and according to the data management SOPs; Train other research staff members on data management components; Assist with other general day to day ICT support issues; Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.
