Consultancy – Child Protection Situational Analysis: CAFOD

CAFOD is one of the UK’s leading international aid agencies. CAFOD’s office in Harare is seeking the services of a well-qualified and experienced consultant to conduct a child protection situational analysis. CAFOD worked with the Zimbabwe Catholic Bishop’s Conference in 2015 to develop and roll out a child protection policy for the Catholic Church in Zimbabwe and also supports partners working on child protection in schools and communities. In order to build on these, CAFOD would like to engage a consultant to carry out a situational analysis of child protection issues in the country. The purpose of the consultancy is to improve our understanding of current status of child protection in Zimbabwe to inform the development of future programming. The consultancy: The consultant will be responsible for conducting a desk review of literature available on the issue from different sources and capture relevant information to inform programme design as well as identifying key stakeholders for possible collaboration and networking. In addition, the consultant will facilitate a validation workshop where existing and potential partners as well as selected key stakeholders will validate the results of the review as well as proposed programme areas.
Potential consultants must possess excellent research, communication, analysis and writing skills, including being comfortable interacting and representing at a senior-level. Strong facilitation, strategic planning and project design skills are also required. Specific experience in child protection and/or a legal background are strongly desirable.
