The Head of Retail and SME Banking is a senior position, which reports to the CEO.

You will lead a substantive team and shall be responsible for developing, executing and managing a Retail and SME Banking strategy and tactical business plan for the division. The SME Sector has enjoyed substantial growth over the past year. You are expected to provide strong leadership, assessing the market opportunity and growth potential, competitor activity, existing capabilities and future risk factors. You will be responsible for sustaining and growing the Division’s balance sheet, acquiring new customers, and deepening/retaining existing customers and maintain an exceptional market position as a preferred banking partner. Leading from the front in forging new business relationships across all products offered, and execute the orders through a professional team & making distribution strategies for achieving business plan. You must establish acceptable benchmarks for service delivery and improve growth in the Retail and SME Sector.
The skill in managing a bank wide audit and compliance program, evaluating operations, recommending controls and protecting assets is a requirement of the role. Responsibility for enhancing revenue through adding new product channels, enhancing market coverage are tasks of this senior role.
- Ensure process development and Customer Life Cycle Management of all customers in all segments.
- Revenue Tracking & analysis of existing products –
tariffs & schemes.
- Product Management-
Developing strategy in terms of Product pricing and positioning.
- Customer Retention and maximize ‘Customer Life Cycle Value’ across the retail and SME Sector
- Review of existing and proposed products and procedures relating to SME Banking, Branch Banking, Wealth management, Investments and Mortgage finance so as to prescribe adequate controls and to ensure that they are in compliance with the banking regulations and the Bank’s internal guidelines.
You must be a seasoned Banker with relevant qualifications across the banking profession, with 10 – 15 years experience in retail banking.
