Vacancy Announcement Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization and Irrigation Development Smallholder Irrigation Revitalization Programme (SIRP)
The Smallholder Irrigation Revitalization Programme (SIRP) is a seven (7) year project that will run under the Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization and Irrigation Development with funding from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD). The Programme will enable smallholder farmers to sustainably enhance their production, productivity and income levels as well as improve access to agricultural markets and financial services. SIRP will achieve this through (i) rehabilitation of irrigation infrastructure; (ii) promotion of improved small holder irrigation management; (iii) promotion of good agricultural practices; (iv) improved market access and rural financial services and (v) enhanced capacity for irrigation development and market-led production. The Ministry of Agriculture, Mechanization and Irrigation Development is putting in place a Project Coordinating Unit (PCU) to guide the implementation of SIRP. In this regard the Ministry invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill in vacant posts for the PCU that will run the SIRP;
