Assistant Procurement Officer: I-TECH/UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research

I-TECH/UZ-UCSF Collaborative Research Programme is seeking suitably trained, competent, multitasking and qualified applicants to fill the post of Assistant Procurement Officer to be based in Harare.

The Assistant Procurement Officer will be based at 15 Phillips Avenue, Belgravia and will be reporting to the Procurement Officer. The position requires close and smooth interaction with internal and external customers.

Duties will include
Assist in selecting and development of vendors capable of Programme needs; Receive requisitions from various projects; assess and prioritise before filing them in respective projects file; Source and obtain quotes; Prepare all purchase orders in terms of the programme’s terms and conditions; Follow-up and expedite orders to ensure prompt delivery; Liaise with accounts for suppliers invoice payments; Maintain procurement records; Applying for import/export documentation with relevant Ministries; Processing import/export documents and payments; Processing of report orders and acquittal for urgent shipments; Liaising with forwarding agents on all shipments

Qualifications
Must have at least a Degree in Procurement / HND or related qualification; Diploma in Shipping and Forwarding/Customs Legislation and Procedures or related qualification is an added advantage; Must have at least 3 years’ experience in purchasing, supply and clearing environment; Meticulous record keeping and organizational skills; Competent computer skills- working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Spreadsheets and SAGE Package; Driver’s licence is a distinct advantage
