Africa Food Initiative Facilitator: WWF

Deadline: 28 October 2016

Location: WWF Office in Harare, Zimbabwe

Last year, WWF launched a new strategy that harnesses the strengths of the WWF network in a shared vision, focussing on six major goals – water, wildlife, the ocean, climate and energy, forests, and food – and three key drivers of environmental problems – markets, finance and governance. It is against this background that WWF Regional Office for Africa (ROA) has identified Food and Agriculture as a key transformational sector. In this regard and in partnership with others, we seek to contribute to strategies, approaches and tools that ensure a sustainable and positive ecological future for Africa. Since WWF Africa is relatively nascent in the food space, it seeks the dedicated resources of a Food Initiative Facilitator to bring several sub-projects within this Transformational Initiative to life.

The role
The incumbent will work with partner organizations to implement various actions under the Africa Food Initiative. He/she will report to a Country Director (Africa Food Initiative Champion); work closely with Country Office Food Focal Points; and link with the Global Food Practice.
